The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position provides strong mentorship and an excellent opportunity to further research skills for a career in academia, government, or industry. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with an interest in developing statistical and computational methods for large datasets. The two major areas of interest are clinical streaming data and high throughput genetic/genomic data. The fellow will primarily work with Saunak Sen, PhD, and Zoran Bursac, PhD. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty inside and outside the Division of Biostatistics. The position will be for one year, renewable for a second year depending on productivity.
Qualifications Requirements for the position include a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or related field. Candidates are expected to have strong computational and statistical skills, and a willingness to learn biology, epidemiology and clinical science. Candidates should be fluent in at least one programming language (R, Python, Julia, C/C++, etc.). Experience using a high performance computing system (HPC) is desirable.
