POSITION X1738 Extension Regional Director, Eastern Region LOCATION The University of Tennessee, Institute of Agriculture, Eastern Region Office, Knoxville, TN EFFECTIVE DATE February 1, 2018. JOB DESCRIPTION The Extension Regional Director is responsible to the Dean of the University of Tennessee Extension for directing Extension Programs and related activities for the 33 counties of eastern Tennessee. Responsibilities: Oversee planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting program results. Serve as a liaison between UT Extension, TSU Cooperative Extension, Extension committees, and county government officials relative to personnel, finance, facilities, equipment and overall operation, marketing/visibility of county Extension programs. Advise regional and county staff relative to policy, personnel, and Human Resource issues. Provide leadership to recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate a diverse county and regional staff. Provide oversight of budgets and expenditures for regional and county offices. Plan and secure external funding for regional programs and events. Direct educational programs that meet the needs of all eligible participants regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, or veteran status and implement the Regional Equal Employment Opportunity Program. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS At least one earned degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, or Education/Youth Development. Master's degree Earned doctorate or terminal degree preferred. A demonstrated commitment to professional development. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication and technology skills. Training and experience in administration, program development, fund development, human resource management, and financial management is preferred. Extension leadership experience is preferred, but other experience appropriate for the assignment will be considered.
