The Waste Water Treatment Operator will report to the Chief Operations Officer and will work with the Chief Development Officer. This position will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities in all areas of Vero Blue Farms related to the waste water treatment facility. The Waste Water Treatment Operator, works alongside the Manager of Post Production, Manager of Nursery, Manager of Consumables, all of whom report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Understanding of land-based recirculating aquaculture systems.
Water Quality – Fresh Water (source, ie Well, or Municipal ) – testing, monitoring, sufficient volumes, etc.
Water Quality – Reclaimed Water (waste water treatment) – waste water reclamation plant operation
Water Quality – Disposed Water (any water discharged from our farms or Facilities ie. Fish Processing Plant, Fish Hydrolysate plant etc.) – testing, monitoring, volumes, constituents, etc.
Water Quality – Process water ( any and all water currently utilized in process, ie. Hatchery, Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Grow Out, ) - testing, monitoring, volumes, DO levels, nitrate, ammonia, etc.
Responsible for review and operation, maintenance, repair of the wastewater plant and lines and any other work necessary and directed
Permits and Approvals – maintaining and obtaining all permits with DNR, and other governing agencies
New Facility Design – Understanding of Waste Water reclamation systems, Water disposal systems)
Ability to lift at least 40 lbs numerous times during a given working shift, both in static (i.e. feed) and dynamic loads (i.e. netted live fish).
Ability to stand on feet for more than 4 consecutive hours.
Performing duties in a warm and humid environment.
Working in a manner that maintains the overall safety and operational efficiency of the work environment.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
University or college degree, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive leadership experience as a waste water treatment plant operator
Experience working in municipal water treatment
Experience working in waste water or commercial water reclamation.
