Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Health Director for Case Management & Health Partnerships to join the largest Public Health Department in the state of North Carolina. The mission of this division is to create and maintain a culture of innovation and responsiveness to the physical and behavioral health needs of Mecklenburg County residents by collaborating with law enforcement, provider agencies, consumers and families, the courts, district attorneys, public defenders, advocacy organizations, and community colleges. Current programs include CAP DA/CAP C, Child Development Service Agency, Maternal Child Health Programs, WIC, and Trauma and Justice Partnership. The Case Management & Health Partnerships Division, with approximately 315 employees, works collaboratively with community partners to provide services throughout the County. The selected candidate will have expertise managing physical and behavioral public health support services and programs and will provide oversight for policy development and executive leadership for the Case Management & Health Partnerships Division of the Health Department. The position assists the Health Director in all aspects of managing the Division and is available to act on behalf of the Health Director in his/her absence. Serving on the Executive Team, the Assistant Health Director for Case Management & Health Partnerships will join a restructured leadership team to provide cohesive, transformational leadership for the Health Department designed to improve organizational efficiency, increase employee morale, and improve delivery of health services to the community. The leader for the Case Management & Health Partnerships Division must support and encourage productive change in the organization and embrace the opportunity to join a newly restructured Public Health Department.
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Human Services, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work, Counseling or related degrees; Six (6) years of progressively responsible management experience directly related to the public health case management and behavioral health community services division scope of responsibility; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education & Experience: Master’s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work, Counseling or related degree; Six (6) years of public health senior management level experience with responsibilities including the management of case management and behavioral health community services; Licensure as behavioral health clinical practitioner, clinical addiction specialist, or board-certified nurse executive.
