We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Ultrasound Tech-Spec Area.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures under general supervision in a specialty area.
Interacts with patients by identifying self to patient and verifies the identity of the patient by checking the patients ID bracelet or verbal acknowledgement by patient. Technician explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly and provides patient privacy at all times.
Write reports based upon completion of the scan. Documents the scans according to the departmental procedures. Enters, maintains, and records all pertinent patient data. Must use good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses.
Usage of highly technical equipment to produce scans and conduct procedures.
Uses advanced judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
Navigates and performs advanced scans using appropriate equipment.
Alerts the appropriate medical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention. Compares present echocardiograms to previous studies to monitor changes in present status. Carries out assignments within a realistic time frame.
Performs other duties as assigned.
To qualify you must have a Registered as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with OBGYN specialty. Five years of experience in ob/gyn specialty capacity required. Completion of an approved ultrasound technology educational program. College graduate is preferred. This is a FLOATER position which may require rotation among several sites.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
