The Application Architect is responsible for writing software as specified by economists in the development of the PPI economic simulation model and handling the interaction between model end users and the model itself. The incumbent is in charge of modifying the program to fit the needs of PPI researchers. The Application Architect will create custom runs and alter the way a program works at the request of the PPI team. He/she will be asked to create C# and Python packages and modules to implement a large-scale economic/financial model. Other responsibilities include designing custom applications, developing, testing and debugging. The incumbent will be asked to work closely with the faculty head and researchers as they develop and present their research to government and business leaders. The Wharton Public Policy Initiative was created to bridge the gap between government and business through research on areas that are in both’s best interest. The incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines.
