The executive compensation analyst assists in the evaluation, implementation, and oversight of all executive compensation programs including deferred compensation programs and long-term incentives. This role will report to Intuit’s Director of Executive Compensation, Equity and Retirement Programs and will assist in developing all materials to support Intuit’s board of directors, specifically our Compensation and Organizational Development Committee (CODC). Qualified candidates are comfortable managing several projects at once, and helping key decision makers make informed decisions by providing sophisticated analytical support requiring advanced Excel formulas and delivering clear concise summaries. Candidates must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong desire to manage details with accuracy and deliver results.
Analyze base pay, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, and deferred compensation initiatives based on company specific requirements and global regulations.
Provide advanced analytical support and competitive peer data analysis to senior management, the CODC and its independent compensation consultant.
Work closely with the director of executive compensation and members of Intuit’s senior leadership team to develop reports and presentations for Intuit’s CODC.
Conduct peer group studies and develop advanced analyses of executive compensation plan designs and their impact on executive compensation disclosures.
Monitor and forecast utilization of Intuit’s equity plans including, shared-based compensation expense, corporate governance firm metrics, and other shareholder metrics.
Assesses executive compensation practices working closely with the Total Rewards leadership team to evaluate and implement appropriate compensation strategies based on industry best practices.
Develop executive compensation reference tools and guidance for quick access to historical and current executive and LTI compensation information which enable quick and clear responses to questions and requests from senior management and executive employees.
Conduct analysis in support of executive compensation proposals, including detailed scenario modeling and deliver high quality presentations of findings.
Prepare communication material for executive compensation programs to include executive compensation pay statements and education materials.
Stay abreast of trends/changes in the legal and regulatory environments and provides analysis on how much changes may impact executive compensation programs.
Stay abreast of best practices and design of executive non-qualified deferred compensation programs, monitor participation and develop communication and education materials as needed.
Participate in executive compensation and equity compensation industry surveys to monitor trends and best practices. Conduct compensation benchmarking to ensure the competitive analysis of compensation programs are in line with the overall total rewards philosophy. Create in-depth benchmarking reports and analysis to provide compensation recommendations to HR leadership and senior management.
Manipulate large data sets in complex ways and convey findings to an executive audience.
Collaborate with compensation, benefits, and broader colleagues across Intuit globally.
Participate in the year-end bonus and merit process. Evaluate pay decisions relative to individual and company performance.
Develop costing models to create “what if” decision-making scenarios.
Provide guidance and consultation to leaders and human resource professionals in all areas of executive compensation.
BA/BS degree in economics, statistics, business administration or another field that uses quantitative analysis or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting or in an executive compensation analyst role at a public company.
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet programs (e.g., experience with array formulas and indirect functions). Familiarity with other statistical packages.
Strong executive presence - comfortable with presenting directly to senior leadership.
Deep interest in analyzing data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
Working knowledge of base pay, short term incentive, long term incentive, and other executive compensation programs, benefits programs, and broader HR policies and processes is required.
Knowledge of compensation governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
Proven quantitative/analytical skills.
Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, and organizational skills.
Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
