The UCD Cancer Center is a National Comprehensive Cancer Center as designated by the National Cancer Institute and is a School of Medicine Center and an Organized Research Unit under the Office of Research. The Business Analyst II is an integral member of the Cancer Center's Administrative team and provides overall budget management, accountability, analysis, and coordination of the Center's financial operations. Responsibilities include assisting with the development, planning, and management of the Center finances in conjunction with the Business Officer and Associate Director for Administration. Maximum accountability and autonomy for assigned financial and business projects. Responsibilities also include operating expense/revenue budgets, supply and equipment procurement, analysis, creation and distribution of financial reports. The Analyst manages and oversees purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, personnel recruitment and payroll.REQUIRED--Financial accounting and auditing background --Experience developing estimates and assumptions to support the budget--Experience developing and reviewing complicated, multi-year, multi-funded projects budget in accordance with sponsor guidelines--Experience reviewing and analyzing budget variances from actual expenditures and to forecast--Experience creating and formatting spreadsheets and databases using relative cell references and pivot tables for presentation--Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, develop and carry out project assignments in an efficient and timely manner, under pressure of deadlines and frequent interruptions, and meet conflicting deadlines --Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills --Knowledge of and experience using financial, human resources and payroll information systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint PREFERRED--Experience with Kuali, DaFIS, PPS, OPTRS, DS, ehr,--Knowledge of University fund accounting, generally accepted accounting principles and government auditing standards--Degree in business administration/accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience--CRA certification or intention to obtain certification--Knowledge of University contracts/grants, financial, accounting and payroll policies and proceduresSPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
