The Manager of Internal Audit will perform financial, operational and compliance audits on all areas of university operations consistent with the standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors. This will include responsibilities for the execution of risk-based internal audits and advisory projects, as well as assisting with other audit-related matters.
- Perform intermediate and advanced level audits, reviews, or analysis of transactions in execution of the annual internal audit plan. - Evaluate financial and operational processes, including the relevant risks and controls. - Evaluate the effectiveness of the internal control environment and compliance with university policies and procedures. - Collaborate with management to build and maintain ongoing business relationships. - Communicate noted issues, risks, and control deficiencies to the key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. - Identify opportunities for process and control enhancements and developing recommendations to ensure risks are adequately mitigated. - Advise management in the enhancement of risk management policies and procedures. - Review testing documentation prepared by staff to assess the operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. - Research and analyze regulatory, technical or other information, as deemed necessary. - Comply with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Company policies and procedures. - Identify new rules issued by the applicable regulatory or governing body to remain current on auditing, accounting, and regulatory trends. - Complete ad hoc and other duties related to Internal Audit services, as assigned. - Supervise Audit team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit results - Other duties as assigned
Job requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (or the equivalent) in public accounting/internal audit.
Successful candidates will possess CPA and/or CIA certification or in pursuance with completion within 2 years of employment.
Strong PC, analytical, written and verbal communication skills required.
Ideal candidate will possess 5 years of experience in internal auditing
Experience working in an internal audit department in a University setting.
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
