Swedish Medical Center is looking for an Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Trainer (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Injury Management Program for Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.
The Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Trainer is responsible for supporting the Safe Patient Handling and Injury Management program by following up on identified educational needs, assisting in development of content, and implementation of the training program.
In this position you will: • Monitor the day to day activity on the units, assure accountability for their choices and facilitate objective outcome monitors to measure if the units were in compliance. • Work collaboratively with leadership in Accreditation and Safety, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Injury Management, Employee Health, Materials Management, Linen, and Facilities to provide seamless ergonomic and training services
Qualifications: Required qualifications for this position include: • A graduate of an accredited program of exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical or occupational therapy assistant program or licensed physical or occupational therapist • CEAS License required within 18 months of hire • Valid Washington State drivers’ license, insurance and ability to travel to all campuses • Must have proficiency of ergonomics knowledge to allow for focus on solving human performance problems by providing education, training, therapy and practical advice on how to change human-related factors affected by the technological components of the work environment. • Must be comfortable with basic data collection and computer skills including spreadsheet management and reporting. High level of communication and motivational skills, both verbal and written, for ability to interface with management and employees. • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively present educational materials to individuals, groups, and leadership.
Preferred qualifications for this position include: • Three years of healthcare experience with emphasis in injury prevention programs
