The Manager has the primary responsibility of achieving high employee engagement to create a distinctive patient experience and assure the provision of quality and safe services through team members within the assigned department. The Manager assures that employees are performing their work consistent with organizational expectations and policies and procedures. Assists the Regional Director with management functions including but not limited to staff assignments, scheduling, financial budgeting, goal setting, regulatory compliance, education/precepting, team building, and interaction with senior hospital administration. Coordinates department's activities with those of other departments; and coordinates with other management staff in establishing checks and quality controls to ensure quality of care. Assists with establishing, maintain and updating all department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, JCAHO or other regulatory bodies related to the requirements for the administration of any department procedure in the pharmacy. Assists with the pharmacy's quality improvement activities and ensures compliance with patient care and medical practice standards. Continuously assesses and improves the performance of pharmacy services provides. Serves as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the Inpatient Pharmacy. Position requires 30% staffing component.

Demonstrates and maintains knowledge and skills necessary to care for the patient group of: 1. Infant, 2. Pediatric, 3. Adolescent, 4. Adult and 5. Geriatric.
Monitors drug therapy for correct dosage, appropriate uses, contraindications, interactions and allergies.
Maintains and keeps all records up to date and in an easily retrievable manner.
Enters or supervises entry of patient prescription information into the computer.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the position, including standards of ethics governing pharmacy practice.
Responsible for inventory control (ordering, inventory and usage).
Implements dispensing procedures needed to insure that patients receive correct medication at all times.
Maintains accountability system for controlled substances that meet all applicable State and Federal laws.
Provides direct supervision and leadership to pharmacy staff and the retail pharmacy operations.
Manage pharmacy in a professional responsible manor.
Provides leadership/management to retail pharmacy staff.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, 5-year program from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
Current Missouri State license as a Pharmacist.
Two years experience in acute care setting.
