Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. The Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (MPA-CINT) group at Los Alamos National Laboratory invites outstanding applicants for post-doctoral positions in active metamaterials/metasurfaces, starting Oct. 1, 2017. We are looking for independent and creative candidates with outstanding academic achievement to join our multi-disciplinary research team consisting of senior staff, postdocs and students. While postdoctoral positions are mainly in experiments, our team efforts include theoretical modeling, numerical simulations, structural designs and fabrications, and free space microwave/optical characterizations.
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or relevant field
Acquisition of Ph.D. within the past five years or soon to be completed
Demonstrated record of scientific achievement through publications and presentations
Research experience in metamaterials/metasurfaces
Experience designing, fabricating and testing active metamaterials, metasurfaces and frequency selective surfaces preferred
Experience in full-wave numerical simulations using commercial packages or open source codes a plus
Experience in design and characterizations of microwave antennas and electronically steerable arrays desired
