The successful candidate will have a certification from a Medical Assistant program, demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, and have the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, no nights, holidays or weekends. Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for collection and documentation of patient information to include vital signs, chief complaint, review of medications, allergies, health risk screen information, status of extended care benefits and other services Assist with phone calls and messages. Document all calls and actions taken Direct patients to team member that would resolve issues prior to and after the primary care appointment Participate in monitoring of patients with chronic disease and extended care benefits including verification of eligibility and status of services Function as member of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate care Assist RN with coordination / completion of patient care plans Assist co-workers with duties when requested, to include, but not limited to floating to other areas
Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED 1+ years experience in medical field Certified Medical Assistant or graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program BLS / CPR certified or willing to obtain upon hire Ability to perform complex medical assistant tasks including test / treatments within the clinical scope Basis computer proficiency i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and OutlookPreferred Qualifications:Excellent communication skills, excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Strong computer skillsCareers with Optum.
