Underthe direction of the Senior Development Manager, the Grant Writer isresponsible for preparing proposals and grant applications for submission tofunders. Funders include private,federal, state and corporate partners. The Grant Writer will engage throughout the pre-award and developmentprocess while adhering to the vision and mission of Cook County Health &Hospitals System (CCHHS).
Thisposition is exempt from Career Service under the CCHHS Personnel Rules.
Performsresearch into grant making organizations to identify funding opportunities.
Preparesand writes grant applications ensuing deadlines are met.
Adheresto guidelines given by the funder to develop applications for each fundingopportunity.
Analyzesthe feasibility of the project's budget and ensures it is aligned with theproject narrative.
Collectsdata and information from CCHHS internal and external stakeholders to developproposals.
Developsa complete understanding of the program and effectively communicates that inthe written proposal.
Workscollaboratively with principal investigators and programmatic staff to developthe proposal content for submission.
Developscharts and graphs when needed to display data and information within theproject narrative or proposal.
Developsproject workflow and timelines for proposals.
Workscollaboratively with Finance to develop budgets and budget narrative forproposals.
Performsother duties as assigned.
Reportsto the Senior DevelopmentManager
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.Must provide official transcript at time of interview.
Three (3) years of relevant grant writing and proposal developmentexperience is required.
Record of successful grant proposals (Must provide a writing sample of aproposal written at time of interview) is required.
Must be able to work flexible hours based on project needs or timelinesis required.
Master's Degree from an accreditedcollege or university is preferred.
Health-related grant proposal writingexperience is preferred.
Programmatic and research grantexperience with a hospital system is preferred.
MUST MEET ALL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AT TIME OFAPPLICATION FILING.
