Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Medicine (SOM) and the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute announce an opening for tenure-track junior level faculty position in cancer biology with an emphasis on preclinical and translational science, highlighting regulation by the tumor immune microenvironment focusing on melanoma.
Tumor-host interactions regulate all aspects of solid tumor development, and impact response to therapy. We seek applications from junior scientists developing exciting research programs investigating tumor-host interactions and immune modulation in melanoma using relevant in vivo model systems. This tenure track position will be within the departments of Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology (www.ohsu.edu/cdcb) and Dermatology.
This position will be a joint appointment as a cutaneous oncologist in dermatology with rank commensurate with experience in the development and performance of clinical trials, immuno-oncology publications, and a record of successful collaboration. Recruited investigators will be expected to interact with a collaborative group of clinicians, basic scientists and clinician/scientists.
The Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology department (CDCB) is a multidisciplinary department with a common thread of understanding human disease from a tissue/developmental biology perspective. With tumor-host interactions being recognized as playing critical roles in regulating all aspects of cancer progression and response to therapy, candidates with research programs addressing aspects of the tumor microenvironment (TME), tumor cell-extrinsic biology and/or oriented around clinically-relevant questions will be given priority. Investigators utilizing mouse models of melanoma development are especially encouraged.
