SON faculty members who have advanced practice specialization (nurse practitioner, nurse�]midwife, clinical nurse specialist or nurse anesthetist) may function in all of the missions of the School. Scholarly teaching is an expectation for all faculty members. The faculty member must be nationally certified and state licensed. The faculty member must be credentialed and privileged as a member of the OHSU Professional Staff in accordance with the specialty bylaws if practicing at an OHSU setting. The faculty member will be assigned teaching, scholarship/research and service responsibilities by the program director in furtherance of the university�fs missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The advanced practice faculty member is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU and SON policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice. This particular position is for the FNP program.

Functions/Duties of Position
The duties of this position includes:
Clinical Activities: Active practice in a primary care setting
Scholarly Activities: Includes publications, presentations, quality improvement projects or other research activities
Education Activities: Teaching graduate nursing students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program and potentially the DNP program. This includes teaching and leadership in program and curriculum development and advising and mentoring of students.
Service Activities: These activities could include university service, committee membership, professional activities and other community service and other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director. Participates in faculty governance; additional engagement based on rank.
Administrative Activities: As negotiated.
Other Activities: Other responsibilities as assigned by the program director in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Education: Doctorate (PhD or DNP) is required and must practice in primary care
Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses: Oregon RN license, FNP license, and current BLS certification required
Experience: At least two years of primary care practice experience required; teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher preferred
