Primary Responsibilities:Manage phone queue responsibilities for the PA Special Needs Unit.Respond to member inquiries in real time to their unique questions regarding benefits, locating providers, denials, referring to community resources, etc.Must be able to remain calm in high volume situations and remain flexible in a very changing environment.Ability to present self to callers in a calm, compassionate and knowledgeable manner using active listening skills in order to prevent the member from repeating their story.Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage issues, questions and concerns from members and / or providers.Assist the SNU staff in resolving member issues.Document all member contact in an accurate, timely, concise manner to reflect all activities.Handle resolution / inquiries from members and / or providers that may include:Benefit and eligibility information.Provider information.Billing and payment issue.Customer material requests.Community resources.
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED2+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problemsExperience working in a call center environmentProfessional experience in a clerical or administrative support related roleMust be able to create, edit, save and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft ExcelMust be able to navigate a PC to open applications, send emails, and conduct data entry Required Qualifications:Experience working with ICD-10 and CPT CodesExperience working within the Healthcare IndustryExperience working with Healthcare InsuranceExperience working in a Hospital, Physician's Office, or Medical Clinical settingExperience working with Medicare and / or Medicaid ServicesWorking knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with members and providersCareers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
