Business Manager, Human-Computer Interaction Institute-2006788
The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) in the School of Computer Science is a multi-disciplinary academic unit which includes research, education and outreach activities representing approximately $17M of business. In your role as the Business Manager, you are responsible for the operations of the HCII, primarily in the areas of human resources, finance and operations. You will serve as a resource and advisor to faculty and staff on matters of compliance, policy, administration and planning.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Oversee business office in support of the operations of the Institute including finance, human resources, space allocation and facilities planning. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and develop Institute policies, procedures and guidelines to support administration of programs and functions. Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts for the HCII and periodic snapshots and forecasts for faculty
Function as administrative leader by working with staff to resolve process and system issues. Serve as a member of the management team supporting the overall mission of the Institute.
Oversee the preparation of proposals and administration of grants and contracts. Coordinate with OSP and SPA. Ensures compliance with government regulations, agency requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Administer and advise department on financial resource matters and policies and procedures. Advise management on compliance and supporting policies and guidelines. Oversee the development and oversight of the budget.
Consult with key management on projects and roll-out of staff and other programs within the unit; Preparation of business information reporting and analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business/Business Administration or Accounting required; Master's degree preferred
Five years or more of relevant accounting, finance or business administration experience required
Excellent project management and oral/written communication skills required
Higher education and Human resources experience preferred
