IQ Inc. is dedicated to providing creative, high-quality software to our clients while supplying a rewarding, fun, collaborative, and flexible work environment to our team. We are currently in need of an Engineering Support Technician for a position in the Pittsburgh area.
We need you to:
Support a critical software application in a fully distributed Linux environment
Coordinate support activities across small team of technicians
Customer contact for support issues
Test completed work and peer review of work completed by co-workers
Create and deploy configuration kits to in-house test labs, customer test labs and customer production environments
Carry a work phone and be on-call on a rotating basis
Provide first level of customer support on a rotating schedule and be the primary contact by the customer when issues in the production dispatching system arise
Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues to the engineering staff when required
Complete assigned work accurately and on-time
Work in a team environment
We also need someone who is an analytical thinker, motivated by working as part of a terrific team, is great with people, and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience
Have an Associate Degree, preferably in IT Software Applications and Programming; Information Systems Administration; Computer Technology; or similar
Have hands-on experience in a command line computing environment
Have a basic working knowledge of the Linux or UNIX operating system
Have a basic understanding of software configuration management (CM)
Have a basic understanding of software programming logic
Have good verbal and written communication skills
Have the ability to interact with a customer in a professional manner
Have the ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities
Have excellent coordination skills
It would be great if you also had:
Ability to read, understand, and implement scripts written in various scripting languages such as BASH, python, and Perl
General knowledge of AutoCAD or similar engineering drawing tools
