Join us and help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) Reporting to the Manager Clinical Operations - APAC, this role is responsible for the leadership along with the efficient and effective operation of a suite of services based in APAC that provide professional counseling and specialist professional consultancy services via telephone. These services include the EAP Connect professional telephone counseling at two principal sites (Melbourne and Brisbane) and acute (time critical) professional consultation services operating from sites across APAC: these services are Manager Hotline, Red Flag (Triage), Rapid and Critical Incident Scoping services. The post - holder is responsible for providing clinical leadership within these services, ensuring that they manage client and customer need and workload within Optum's productivity model. Responsible for maximising efficiency and utilisation while meeting service objectives, the incumbent will manage these services while recommending and implementing service improvements based on client and customer feedback and growth in Opium's customer base. The post - holder also works in close collaboration with other senior Optum clinical staff to ensure a seamless delivery of professional services to clients and customers. Primary Responsibilities: Leadership Lead and manage the provision of these services, ensuring that they achieve their objectives and are delivered to high quality standards within target timescales and budget, ensuring: Standardised practices for each service Effective working partnerships within and outside the business Continuous improvement of existing services and, where necessary, development of new service delivery models Oversight of regular quality assurance practices Provision of clinical advice and expertise within this portfolio of services Planning and coordinating training and education for incumbent and incoming cliniciansSupport the development and implementation of organization - wide business plans that incorporate business objectives and outcomes, areas of service activity, criteria to evaluate success, timescales for service delivery, risks and mitigating actions and a staffing / financial resource plan for delivery Work to achieve targets, monitoring own performance Support business development through involvement in the preparation of bids Communication and relationship building Develop and maintain effective relationships and strong positive communication with the wide range of internal stakeholders engaged in the planning and delivery of programmes Employ effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to enable effective change management Represent Optum at meetings and events, promoting the work of the organisation as appropriate Provide presentations to internal and external groups and at conferencesAnalysis and Judgment Analyse and interpret varied and different types of data, information, and situations which may be highly complex, difficult to communicate and sometimes contentious or sensitive Make judgments on the implications of this information, taking appropriate action where necessary Oversee and ensure roster arrangements and roster coverage is appropriate for these services and properly accommodates service demandPolicies, procedures and service delivery Follow Optum policies and procedures, including clinical and information governance Ensure that these services are implemented and delivered consistently and appropriately Support the monitoring of progress against service planning plan and the adjust plans and strategies in line with a changing environment Identify opportunities for improving working practicesManaging and leading people Transfer expertise and knowledge as appropriate Escalate issues within the services to senior managers, where appropriate Forge positive working relationships within clinical groups and across departments in Optum, supporting a matrix approach to achieving objectivesResponsibility for information resources Ensure that updates for progress reports are prepared and ready in a timely manner Support the preparation of strategic reports for customers and the internal (Optum) senior leadership team as requiredResearch and Development Keep abreast of developments in clinical practice, policies and strategies that could impact upon the work of the organisation Keep abreast of national and regional health policies and best practice, and develop an understanding of the key priorities, challenges and achievements of local health services. Required Qualifications: Registered Psychologist Significant experience as a senior manager/leader within an EAP environment Experience of performance management Experience of commissioning service delivery models Experience managing acute service delivery Good understanding of health and social care structures, policy, legislation and guidance An understanding of issues in the provision of EAP services, particularly those delivered via telephone Use of MS Outlook; Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint, etc Preparation of paper reports setting out information, its analysis and interpretation in a lucid and persuasive manner in the context of evidence Presentation and facilitation skills (verbal and written) to a high standard in a range of settings Preferred Qualifications:Postgraduate Qualification in health or related discipline or management qualification or professional qualification e.g. MBA or equivalent experience is desirable Liaison and network skills to allow continuing and developing relationships with key stakeholders Project management experience Careers with Optum.
