In this Network Services Architect (Route/Switch) role, you will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architecture and applications. Primary Responsibilities: Work daily with a team of senior network engineers to help them architect, prioritize, and organize their solutions. These projects will come from various groups across the enterprise, and you will be responsible in fulfilling our customers' requirements as well as assisting the other architects with their projects if necessary Collaborate with the business to understand/influence business requirements Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives Identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems Facilitate/lead/participate in identification of solution options and features Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews) Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans) Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed Maintain awareness of current technology assets and the capability of each Understand and adhere to architecture Governance framework Deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience OR a High School Diploma plus 10 years of equivalent professional IT experience 5+ years of experience in network solution delivery and engineering 5+ years of experience with WAN/LAN routing, switching and firewall environments 3+ years of professional IT experience in a large enterprise environment Network or IT Architecture experience Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration Experience leading teams and/or managing workloads for IT team members Professional leadership level experience in a large, enterprise environment influencing others such as IT technical leaders & managers United States Citizenship Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86 Preferred Qualifications: Agile process management experience Experience in enterprise class healthcare organizations Experience with Vendor Management/Daily Operations CCNP, CCIE Graduate degree Experience prototyping and performance tuning applications deployed across multiple operating systems, languages and computing platforms Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent presentation skillsAs a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.
