This job performs both technical tasks and clerical functions. Responsible for performing echocardiograph studies and high quality peripheral vascular studies including duplex imaging and plethsmography of upper and lower extremity vasculature, abdominal viscera and cranial vessels.

Maintains patient records and schedules patients.
Performs M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler and Color-Flow Doppler echocardiographs.
Performs all modalities of PV studies, i.e. venous, arterial, imaging, Doppler and plethsmography.
Reports findings verbally to ordering physicians under the direction of a physician approved to read studies in the lab.
Completes appropriate paperwork, i.e. mounts and measures echocardiographs, logs and indexes patients, prepares patient folders, maintains cross index of patients and studies.
Participates in meetings and conferences, shares in the instruction of new employees and residents and keeps physicians abreast of changes in the field.
Must maintain the appropriate number of CME credits required by ICAEL and ICAVL.
Responsible for Quality Assurance program and assists with research data.
Assists with overall operation of lab.

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years echocardiography and vascular schooling experience preferred
2 years of full-time echocardiography and vascular sonography preferred
RCT or RDCS, and RVT preferred; Current CPR required prior to start date directly through the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the military. (To register: Blended Learning or In Person CPR AED through the American Red Cross; or Classroom or Skills Session Heartsaver CPR AED through the American Heart Association. Certification must include an in-person skills session.)
RCT or RDCS, and RVT preferred; BLS or BCLS required.
