Gannon University, a Catholic University, invites applications for the Assistant Director of Academic Advising and ADA/504 Service Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide quality advising services to various types of undergraduate students in an effort to increase student persistence and retention. In addition, the Assistant Director will coordinate student outreach efforts which include but not limited to peer mentoring. The position will also be responsible for coordinating ADA/504 services to students with documented disabilities. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
Requirements include a master's degree in a related field (e.g. higher education, education, counseling or student personnel) with preference given to individuals with a background in disability support services. A minimum of two-to-three years of relevant experience in academic advising or student support services at the college/university level is required with some level and knowledge in working with students with disabilities. Required proficiencies include: comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal ADA/504 regulations governing access to accommodations; current theories and best practices within higher education for academic advising, mentoring and retention; Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and other software platforms.
