You will be part of the Singapore Country Legal team and provide legal support to Citi Singapore for the Institutional Clients Business (e.g. Securities and Funds Services, Transaction Services, Commercial Banking, Custody Services) and Consumer Banking Business (e.g. Wealth Management, Retail Banking, Secured Finance, Credit Payment Products (credit cards, personal loans), SME Banking)
You will be supporting the business lines as well as the middle and back office functions of the Bank and have responsibilities including providing advice on legal and regulatory matters as well as preparing documentation for the Bank's products and services
Lawyers on the team have specific business portfolios - our search is currently for a lawyer to cover the Credit Payment Products portfolio.
There is no prescribed schedule for rotation of portfolios, but portfolios can be exchanged if the opportunity arises for such development. It is important that a candidate be willing to support both the Institutional Clients and the Consumer Banking businesses
You must have a recognized law degree, be admitted to the Singapore Bar with 8 - 15 years PQE. Ideally, you should have banking, securities law, corporate finance or capital markets experience, and be familiar with regulations governing the financial industry (e.g. Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act and supplementary regulations)
In-house experience with a financial institution is not essential. It is however essential that you possess strong analytical and communication skills, have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, be energetic, dedicated and committed to delivering on the job
Solid legal skills are expected coupled with sound commercial acumen
