The mission of Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health is to understand and intervene on the social determinants of health and health equity across the life-course. Based in the SBS Department, the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness overarching goal is to produce a rigorous, interdisciplinary science of happiness and health.
The succesuful candidate will perform a wide range of complex and confidential administrative and clerical duties for three senior faculty members, including the Chair of the Department; the Co-Director of the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Happiness and the Director of the HSPH Interdisciplinary Concentration on Women, Gender and Health.
Such duties are: - Provides wide ranges of support including: keyboarding, composing and editing letters, memoranda, reports, lecture/course materials, presentations - Manages complex calendars, arranges for meetings, appointments and domestic and international travel - Coordinates events, including conferences, seminars, and colloquia - Answers and routes phone calls, mail and e-mail messages and may handle a wide-range of information dissemination - Reviews complex and confidential documents, reports, etc., to assure compliance with University requirements and/or government regulations - May assist in preparation of grant proposals; may provide policy interpretation on grant parameters. - Reviews, assesses, routes, answers and monitors follow up action steps on correspondence. Gathers and analyzes information required for administrative reporting. - Uses multiple technical applications including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, graphics and presentation software, electronic calendar, email, and other technical/scientific applications. Uses Internet, may include web maintenance and design - Assists with travel receipts and/or other reibursements - May be responsible for obtaining permissions and copyright registration -Other duties as assigned

- 5+ years related experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- College degree strongly preferred, or an equivalent of education. - Experience in an office environment. - Knowledge of endnotes, a plus. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work across teams and with multiple projects and constituencies; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
