The Administrative Assistant III in the Department of Infectious Disease provides highly responsible and confidential administrative support, secretarial duties and clerical functions for the Infection Control Department.Enters data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing, data management and reporting purposes.Prepares correspondence and reports.This position actively supports the department's quality improvement and regulatory reporting requirements.
Audits reportforms for accuracy of data and completion, and resolves discrepancies anddelinquencies after communication with appropriate infection control staff.
Enters datainto existing data base(s).
Maintains,cleans, and stores data.
Providesreports of data and assists with reporting to state, local and nationalcenters.
Creates datafor visual presentations.
Communicateswith the infection control practitioners and the hospital epidemiologist regardingwork progress and questions or concerns.
Maintains asecure database.
Prepares andmaintains administrative records.
Preparescorrespondence and reports.
Attendsweekly epidemiology meeting.
Attendsmonthly Infection Control Committee meetings.
Preparesagenda and minutes for Department meetings; prepares and distributes meetingdocuments.
Preparesslide presentation on PowerPoint.
Makes andscreens calls; provides telephone support for department office.
Assists inresearch protocols (data collection, entry, and interpretation/analysis).
Assist withcontact and outbreak investigations which ma y include collecting information,entering and analyzing data.
Assistsquality assurance projects in determining how to conduct a gap analysis.
Performsother duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED is required (must provide proof at time of interview)
Three (3) years of prior experience providing administrative support to a department or member of management is required
One (1) year of experience with one or more of the following activities: scheduling events with multiple participants, timekeeping, updating records and reports, experience responding to basic email communications isrequired
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. (May be required to pass a proficiency test.)
