VMI is seeking applications for a full-time Computer and Multimedia Classroom Support Technician. This position is responsible for servicing and supporting computers and classroom equipment throughout post. Duties include installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, audio visual and peripheral devices. Duties also include setup, configure, install, and maintain desktop and laptop computer hardware, software, and associated equipment. Interview, hire, and supervise cadet assistants. Work with vendors to obtain equipment quotes and schedule on-site work and installations. Provide Help Desk coverage as needed.
Requirements for the position include:
Experience supporting personal computer hardware and software • Knowledge of hardware repair and software configurations • Experience supporting Microsoft products including operating systems, the Office Suite, and Microsoft networking in a TCP/IP network environment is necessary • Comptia A+ certification • Dependable, excellent attendance record, self-motivated • Excellent troubleshooting and communications skills • Enjoy working in a team atmosphere • Must be able to lift heavy objects, walk distances, and climb ladders
A.A.S. or higher degree
Previous PC technician experience
Experience with Extron/Crestron equipment is desirable.
