The Academic Personnel Analyst will be part of the Dean's Office analyst team but serve as the primary resource and administrator for all academic personnel actions pertaining to members of the Academic Senate or Academic Federation, collective bargaining units, visiting titles, graduate titles, postdoctoral titles and miscellaneous titles for an assigned group of departments. This position will serve as the local AP expert conducting in-depth research on complex issues and problematic cases and recommend solutions.Required: --Advanced knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures --Experience Academic Personnel Manual to include faculty appointment, merit, appraisal and promotion process --Critical thinking and applied problem-solving skills to research and analyze complex information --Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills to effectively respond in a professional manner by email, in person, or by telephone. Preferred: --Experience with UCD Academic Personnel, preferably within School of Medicine --Advanced knowledge and understanding of UC policies and procedures governing Academic Senate, Academic Federation, Unit 18 and academic bargaining units --Understanding of the NIH cap as applied to faculty compensation --Experience with eHR, Payroll and Personnel System (PPS) and the Academic Personnel History and Information Database (APHID) SPECIAL REQUIREMENT--Must be able to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.--THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
