Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, (University Student Union Maintenance Mechanic)
California State University San Marcos seeks a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic. The University Student Union (USU) Maintenance Mechanic will provide night and weekend maintenance support for the University Student Union. The USU Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled generalist performing at a journey-level in one trade with strong skills in other trades. The position independently performs a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation work on facilities and systems. The USU Maintenance Mechanic must work cooperatively on Facility Services project teams to accomplish a variety of tasks, as directed. This position will also contribute to overall building and departmental operations and maintain facilities that are responsive to student developmental needs.

Minimum Qualifications include: Four years of increasingly responsible experience leading to journey-level skills in a facilities/building or mechanical trade, or any equivalent combination of training and experience as a facilities and systems mechanic which demonstrates the achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of an applicable apprenticeships program. Valid California Driver's license. Must successfully meet and pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug screen.
Preferences: Experience working in a university setting within a student union environment
Salary and Position Status
Full-time, probationary position
Salary Range: $4,903 - $6,625 /month
Anticipated Hiring Salary: $4,903 /month
