I. INVESTMENT BANKING DIVISION (IBD)
Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking Division (IBD) builds and maintains close relationships with corporations and governments around the world in order to provide both traditional and innovative solutions that meet their individual strategic and financial needs.
The IBD team works with relevant regional and international clients on a wide range of complex transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts, strategic advisory assignments and executions of public and private capital markets transactions.
With regional headquarters in Hong Kong, Asia Pacific Investment Banking Division (IBD) is currently seeking a high performing Vice President (based in Hong Kong) to join our well-recognized Corporate Finance Execution (CFX) team with principal responsibility for the execution of IPOs, debt and equity financing transactions involving Asia Pacific Corporate and Financial Sponsor clients and for overseas clients involving businesses based in Asia Pacific.
- Originate and primarily execute IPOs and equity transactions across all industry sectors - Lead client negotiations, Q&A process and management interviews - Build up strong partnerships with key stakeholders in client organizations and other advisers such as other banking or financial institutions, legal and accounting professionals...etc. - Coordinate project deliverables and timetables with other advisers - Work cohesively with team-mates in CFX to manage IPOs, debt and equity financing transactions - Review financial models and analytics compiled by junior team-mates to facilitate marketing and execution of transactions - Refine marketing and execution documentation to ensure maximum client impact - Work in collaboration with colleagues in IBD and other Business Units such as Legal and Compliance - Ensure the completion of necessary due diligence and execution of IPOs and transactions in accordance with Firm Policy and processes - Keep abreast of and share with team-mates key market intelligence and key developments in the industry - Offer coaching and mentoring to junior team-mates
Qualifications and Skill-sets Required
- A university degree from a leading and internationally renowned university majoring in Finance or related disciplines with excellent academic results - At least 6 years of hands-on experience within IBD or Corporate Financing with a well-regarded investment banking platform with elite financial institutions - A strong network of client relationships with Asian corporates and financial institutions necessary - Proven exposure to syndicated loans, acquisition finance, mezzanine finance, US private placements, Euro bonds, and hybrid issues a distinct advantage - Bilingual communication skills in spoken and written English and Mandarin (native or near native-level) a must - Technically sound with practical financial modeling skills - An excellent team player - An inspiring team leader who takes pride in being a role model and in effectively inspiring team-mates in a fast-paced and high-pressure operating environment
