Along the way, you'll grow and develop at a pace that energizes your career while you do your life's best work.(sm)Primary Responsibilities:Lead or help develop program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program/project charter, Statement of ---Work, Business Vision Document) Work with resource managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project execution Collect, analyze and maintain financial forecast information (e.g., labor, hardware, software), using input from applicable sources Establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition) Develop, communicate and implement program/project risk/issue management plans and strategies (e.g., mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance) Lead medium to large, complex programs and projects across the federated and local Affordability initiatives (e.g., SNF Model of Care, Multiple Admissions, Claims, Pharmacy, Medical Management, PA/UM initiatives) end-to-end to drive the desired outcomes and achieve key business objectives and financial targets Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams Execute SOWs with vendors and provide oversight to ensure successful project implementations on time, within scope and budget, and with high quality Predict emerging needs across OptumCare Care Delivery and develop innovative solutions to meet them Participate in the development of business strategies Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives Solve unique and complex challenges with broad impact on the business, operations, clinical care and affordability Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of internal and external audiences (e.g., vendor partners) Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches Develop clinical and operational strategies and implement solutions that have favorable impacts across OptumCare Care Delivery Develop program and project management tools and templates leveraging proven project management methodologies and best practices driving efficiencies, quality and speed to market Provide broad and deep Optum, CDO and UHC/UHG subject matter expertise Coordinate work efforts across all teams (e.g., clinical, operations, IT, vendors (e.g., ActualMeds)) and ensure alignment with scope, budget, timeline and quality expectations Ensure projects and programs are staffed with the right resources at the right time to deliver on time, within scope and budget, and with high quality Provide oversight of relationships Establish and lead the governance structure, steering committee and program/project meetings leveraging a structured and predictable approach, tools and templates Partnering with the IT PM and vendor(s), establish E2E plan, lead teams and manage efforts in alignment with the plan Establish and secure signoff on core deliverables (e.g., scope, charter, CBA, SOWs with vendor(s), decks for steering committee meetings, communication plan, R&R, risk mitigation plan, escalation plan, IRAAD, status reports, help desk / operations support) Provide ongoing leadership communications and status reports Partner with the Education team to ensure training for projects and programs aligns with scope (e.g., training curriculum / artifacts, training sessions, testing to validate understanding and application of what was trained) Lead production deployment planning, implementation and clinical/business validation Develop project management tools, templates and processes to drive speed to market with high quality Ensure smooth transition to Operations / Business As Usual (BAU)
Required Qualifications:BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and/or equivalent education and work experience Healthcare experience 3+ years of project management experience 3+ years experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projectsPreferred Qualifications:Clinical experience RN Ability to travel 25% Careers with Optum.
