The Employer Relations and Recruitment Programs Manager (Manager) serves as the primary liaison between legal employers and the J.D. students they may be interested in hiring.
The Manager creates opportunities for employers to make contact with and recruit our students and advises employers on ways to most effectively convey their marketing messages to students. These efforts assist employers to develop their long-range outreach strategies and maximize their recruiting potential.
The Manager also markets the unique talents and skills of our students to potential employers. He/she is a strategic thinker who continually develops innovative and effective ways of reaching out to, and engaging, potential employers and cultivating new mutually beneficial relationships.
The Manager utilizes his/her knowledge of legal employer as well as student needs, priorities and interests to develop and implement highly customized programs, events, and services, including on-and-off campus interviewing, that creates, enhances, and sustain relationships between Berkeley Law and its external legal employer constituents.
The Manager maintains the database that houses employer (and student employment) data and job opportunities, and that schedules job interviews as part of our recruitment programs. The Manager oversees the generation of employment outcome reports from the database. The Manager also proposes data system improvements and coordinates their implementation.
Finally, the Manager oversees the administrative operations of the Career Development Office, which includes supervising our resources specialist and our student assistants on data entry and other office tasks (ordering supplies, coordinating front desk and phone coverage, booking student appointments, and processing reciprocity requests).
