Upstream Product Management is responsible for defining the market strategy, with a focus on overall product pipeline and new product development. Key activities include customer/market research, forecast and financial analysis and defining business opportunities. Product Management is responsible for defining and driving product initiatives from concept through to initial launch and includes full support of the stage/gate process withR&D. Products include infusion and monitoring solutions (hardware and software) as well as networked products that are integrated into healthcare information systems. This position will have an emphasis on the enterprise and networking products for our system.
-Demonstrates in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in product management and the product development process including business case development, customer research, concept development, usability studies and use case development -Identifies market opportunities, develops, implements and manages solutions, and provides subject matter expertise in healthcare product, cyber-security and clinical informatics development -Assesses financial implications, including profitability and viability, within a moderately complex product/market portfolio -Understands and manages lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to achieve sustainable economic success -Exhibits strong interpersonal skills related to interfacing with customers and key influencers to ensure that marketing decisions are customer-driven -Active and collaborative participation on cross-functional teams and includes members of support functions such as R&D, field operations, regulatory, quality clinical, sales, manufacturing and user experience design -Works to understand complex technical, functional and business problems and reduces them to step wise tactical execution in a team environment -Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams/members without formal authority -Works closely with downstream product management to provide launch support during the transition to product release -Demonstrates deep customer, technical/regulatory and clinical expertise; collaborates with appropriate parties to identify the drivers leading to business success. -Encourages informed risk-taking and acts as a catalyst for innovation; generates practical, sustainable and creative options to solve problems and create business opportunities, while maximizing existing resources. -Evaluates alternative solutions/decisions in light of the potential impact on the internal/external customer; understands the resource implications of solutions and makes recommendations in adherence to governance and prioritization guidelines. -Contributes and works within multi-generational product plans and complex product portfolios involving medical devices systems and software -Works collaboratively with development organization to define market needs and provide voice of customer during development activities -Monitors emerging trends and problems within healthcare market, including macroeconomic, regulatory, compliance, technology and competitive areas. Distills them to product impact and communicates them concisely to the business.

-5+ years’ experience in upstream marketing, product management with a demonstrated business focus and competency
-Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering related field; MBA preferred
Experience with IT standards, HL7 interfaces, server architecture, networked systems and cyber-security (e.g. FIPS 140-2, RMF, ATO) standards is strongly desired Experience and knowledge of clinical applications for systems and integrations to healthcare Information Systems (HIS) is strongly desired -Experience with HIMSS Analytics report creation strongly desired. -Experience with quality and regulatory standards in healthcare -Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, advanced verbal, written and presentation/communications skills. -Personal characteristics: personable, detail-oriented, critical thinker, self-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful, customer-focused and interested in professional development /career progression - Strong organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills - Fluent English speaker
