This position will coordinate activities related to:
The 15-member Board of Directors. Among other things including:
develop and disseminate agendas and other meeting materials
compose and edit memoranda, reports and correspondence
assist with research and other activities to support strategic planning
schedule board-related phone calls
assist in elections/appointments process and other governance matters
maintain up-to-date board information
The Health Oncology and Executive Councils including:
prepare agendas for quarterly phone calls
assist with scheduling of recruitment phone calls
maintain up-to-date council rosters
Educational, advocacy and Professional development including:
help plan and implement in-person roundtable events around the country (attendance not required ) with 30-100 participants
help plan and implement webinars
develop and edit PowerPoint presentations
liaise with outside speakers
interface with external organizations around presentations at industry conferences,including developing and submitting proposals
help staff our two national conferences
Membership database integrity (updating member and other contact information)
Other duties assigned
Must be available to work 40 hours a week at our offices in downtown Washington, D.C. B.A. or above
Three + years of professional experience, ideally in an association setting
Exceptional writing skills and experience
Self-starter; ability to work independently and monitor own performance objectives
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and solve problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Must be able to work quickly without compromising accuracy/details
Flexibility and the ability to adjust priorities is a must
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Adept at working collaboratively with team members across functional units
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
ASI iMIS database management experience is a plus
Board/governance and healthcare experience is a plus
Limited travel required but must help staff our annual national conference in California.
