The Division of Performing Arts at the University of Iowa is seeking a full-time Electrics & Special Effects Supervisor who will supervise and facilitate the implementation of lighting and special effects technologies for Division of Performing Arts productions. May require evening, weekend and overtime work.
Key Job Duties:
Optimize Lighting for DPA Productions: Supervise lighting and special effects systems for productions. Instruct and supervise student employees.
Human Resource Management: May supervise performance run crews and will direct the pre-hang, load-in, set up, focus, notes, load-out and restore of facility. May supervise union stage crew
Financial Management: Must estimate the costs of projects. Will assist in budget development and monitor and manage budgets to meet goals.
Collaboration: Collaborate with designers and technical directors.
