West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses, is seeking applications for the position of Campus Police Officer. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe atmosphere for faculty, staff, students and visitors by providing police and security services to the WVU Tech campus community.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide a safe campus environment.
Work collaboratively with staff, faculty and students.
Enforce all federal, state and University laws, rules and regulations.
Investigate criminal complaints.
Patrol assigned areas, both during regular work shifts and for special events.
Work Hours: Varies
Pay Grade: 16
Associates degree or equivalent law enforcement experience (civilian or military)
Preference may be given to candidates who have prior certified training or completion of this department's field training program
Successful candidates must be bondable
Valid WV driver's license
Ability to maintain law enforcement officer certification
Ability to pass physical agility testing
Following hire, must qualify for, attend, and complete the West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year, if not already qualified
