Description: An association in Arlington, VA is searching for an Executive Director for our recently revitalized Education and Research Foundation. This person will be responsible for the strategic direction, fundraising, research, scholarship programs, executive leadership and educational programs, day-to-day management of the Foundation and liaison to the Foundation Board of Regents.
Develop and implement a multi-year Foundation strategic plan with alignment of the Foundation Board of Regents
Serve as Foundation’s chief staff liaison to the Foundation Board of Regents and senior executive team
Develop and maintain the Foundation annual budget (P&L)
Oversee all Foundation governance, bylaws and compliance.
Oversee all meetings, logistics and communication functions –
Serve as Foundation spokesperson
Hire and supervise one Foundation support staff
Responsible and accountable for all Research & Education Foundation fundraising activities to support scholarships, education programs, research and other programs to meet/exceed annual and strategic goals
Develop and implement regular fundraising reporting vehicles
Administer invoicing and collection processes
Work with the Foundation Board of Regents and relevant shareholders to identify priority research opportunities and projects
Manage Foundation research projects to completion and develop communication plans for findings, etc.
Seek out industry platforms to promote and share Foundation research
Develop, implement and manage Foundation’s annual scholarship development and distribution program
Identify opportunities to grow scholarship programs
Lead and manage existing executive leadership education programs
Accountable for program P&L, program development and attendance goals, etc.
In alignment with industry partners, provide oversight to existing LMS
University Program Engagement
Maintain active and engaged relationships with universities
Serve as primary Foundation liaison to the University Coalition
Provide program oversight and execution for the annual student case study competition held at the the trade association's annual event.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization e.g., business, education, communications, meeting management, non-profit management or related field;
Ten or more years of relevant experience preferably in an association/foundation setting;
Extensive scholarship program experience
Extensive experience in grant writing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrated interpersonal skills that inspire confidence, respect and trust;
Experience w. non-profit volunteer leadership and participation;
Demonstrated literacy in the use of technology as it relates to organizational management, education, and professional development;
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and able to work cooperatively in a small, team environment;
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets;
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment;
Ability to travel (up to 25%)
