Required Qualifications:Juris Doctorate degree 5+ years of legal experienceKnowledge of U.S., state contract, corporate health care and regulatory lawExperience with regulatory agencies and administrative experience with state insurance regulationsUnderstanding of health care benefit coverage and medical policy developmentPreferred Qualifications:Prior managed care legal experienceStrong understanding of health insurance and/or managed care industry Significant trial and/or arbitration experience Familiarity with healthcare insurance laws and regulations, including ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid and commercial lines of business and HIPAAProven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environmentDemonstrated understanding of business problems related to assigned legal projectsWell developed written and verbal communications skillsExcellent presentation skillsAbility to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needsAbility to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
