Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
The Director of Cancer Service Line provides leadership and strategic direction for all cancer programs in the Southwest Market, this includes Celebration Health, Kissimmee, Winter Garden, and Apopka acute care hospitals/facilities. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plan and initiatives for service line performance. This person collaborates with Radiation Oncology departments and nursing units, Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG), Imaging and Pathology departments to provide Affordable, Connected and Exceptional (ACE) care to Oncology patients within the Southwest Market. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff
Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
Financial management and budgeting experience
Ability to analyze operations and labor management metrics and outcomes
Business and people skills as they related to assigned areas of responsibility
Ability to mentor, enhance and engage organizational talent
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
Master's degree in any Healthcare or Business Administration (preferred)
Minimum of 7 years' functional experience within a hospital or clinical setting
Minimum of 5 years' management experience
Minimum of 5 years' oncology-related experience
Experience managing a comprehensive cancer program
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

Oversees the development and strategic planning for the cancer programs in the Southwest Market. Partners with inpatient oncology nursing, radiation oncology, pathology and imaging to provide connected care to patients. Develops relationships with key customers. Provides leadership that fosters collegial relations among matrix departments, staff and physicians, and ensures quality service. Oversees new facility planning and construction to ensure timelines are met. Provides oversight to Southwest cancer facilities, including building maintenance and improvements, signage, safety and security, parking, effective use of space, and tenants. Oversees development of effective marketing strategies for consumers and physicians. Oversees program expansion into target markets through development and implementation of affiliate/network/physician strategies
Accountable for assuring compliance and providing evidence of performance with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and other regulatory requirements specific to area of responsibility. Adheres to applicable practice standards specific to area of responsibility
Ensures that all departments within scope of practice operate within allocated budget. Implements financial strategies to provide effective fiscal management of cancer programs under the Director's direct control. Participates in preparation of operating and capital budgets.
Develops and implements initiatives, processes, and systems, and creates goals that align with organizational and operational strategies, supporting organizational initiatives. Drives business development and competitive strategies
Acts as a change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change. Participates in and leads various committees. Monitors and reports program metrics to ensure goals are met. Maintains appropriate scorecards. Assures compliance with campus initiatives and serves on hospital committees when requested. Participates as an active member of the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Governance Council
