The Office of Student Life is seeking a Director that leads and administers all operations and functions in the department, works with the Office of University Compliance and Integrity to ensure compliance, and collaborates across the university and community. Directs, manages and supervises the university's principal non-academic student conduct system; manages the student conduct process; provides oversight for all conduct cases and serves as a hearing officer; manages office budget; supervises staff; provides confidential consultation for students with questions and concerns; designs and coordinates educational workshops and training programs; conducts case analyses and assesses trends; assists with periodic review and modification of the university's code of student conduct; successfully incorporates the philosophy of promoting student development while upholding university student conduct standards; collaborates professionally with various campus and community constituencies; serves on university and Student Life committees.
The mission of our office is to protect student rights; help foster a safe and secure educational environment; uphold the standards of the University community; establish accountability for student choices; maintain an equitable and inclusive process that promotes mutual respect; foster ethical standards and critical thinking and decision-making; and assist in the development of students into productive citizens.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for the following objectives.
Learn the OSU Code of Student Conduct, Title IX policy and all applicable policies and procedures around the work of conduct.
Learn the OSU Performance Management and Corrective Action policies, processes and philosophies for exempt employees within three months. Facilitate resolution of problems between employees and supervisors on an ongoing basis. Function with minimum guidance within six months of hire.
Within 60 days, establish a full understanding of assigned units and identify strengths and weaknesses.
At 90 days, make recommendations on process improvements and budget improvements.

Demonstrated success in a leadership capacity and a strategic business partner to a variety of constituents.
Progressive higher education experience with supervisory experience.
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education and Student Affairs, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The full list of required and desired qualifications are:
Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in administering conduct processes, dispute resolution, mediation or similar areas in a university setting; strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, creativity and organizational skills; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet; 3 years of university work experience in Student Life or a Student Affairs department; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and foster cooperation with a broad variety of campus and community constituencies; Strong working knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, FERPA, relevant laws and regulations, relevant statutes, case law and federal policies.
Strong orientation to programs that support student development, training and learning; working knowledge of PeopleSoft Student Information System; working knowledge of Maxient and/or conduct data systems; University Housing experience
