Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and his/her designee, the Admissions Assistant will act as the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the Admissions Office, and will be responsible for representing the Admissions Office and the College in answering questions about the first-year and transfer admissions policies and process, and about Barnard College in general. In addition, the Admissions Assistant will be responsible for managing and organizing the reception area, as well as requests for Admissions materials, interviews, tours, class visits and overnight accommodations from prospective students, and maintaining attendance lists for various admissions programs. The Admissions Office receives over 20,000+ in-person, telephone and written/email inquiries from visitors annually
Required Qualification Summary:
Two years of College required; bachelor's degree preferred. 1 to 3 years of relevant office experience.
Demonstrated interest in a career in College Admissions or higher education preferred.
Familiarity with Barnard College and/or a liberal arts college or higher education environment is essential.
