Manage the Annual Fund direct mail campaign, including planning and executing each mailing piece within the allocated budget and coordinating logistics with the mail house vendor.
Manage the Nashville Symphony’s Governing Members Program, consisting of highly engaged patrons contributing a minimum of $2,500 to the Annual Fund and purchasing tickets for a least four performances each season.
Oversee the annual telefunding campaign, including serving as primary liaison with the telefunding vendor, checking daily reports and working with the Director of Data Standards on leads generation and management.
Supervise a team that initiates and cultivates patron relationships as well as oversee the stewardship plans/activities.
Develop a thorough knowledge of the Nashville Symphony; understand its base of financial support and the funding requirements of all segments of the organization and be able to clearly communicate its mission and needs.
Operate as a contributing member of the Development team by working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to provide seamless support to prospects and donors.
Attend regular staff meetings, evening and weekend performances, and special events, collaborating with colleagues and sharing information.
Assume responsibility for special projects or other activities as directed by the VP of Development.
Bachelor degree in related field, advanced degree and/or CFRE certification preferred
Minimum of five years experience in fundraising profession; experience in a cultural arts organization preferred
Excellent written, verbal communications and editing skills
Knowledge of principles and techniques relevant to major gift fundraising
Understanding of individual donor needs and perceptions
Knowledge of donor databases and prospect tracking systems
Outstanding capacities for personal presentation, organization, self-motivation, accuracy, follow-through, timeliness, consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a multitude of tasks under deadline pressure
Ability to conceptualize and facilitate cultivation strategies
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, volunteers, donors and prospects
