It's the opportunity to do your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities:Develop, manage, and lead a team that oversees the contracting efforts in the marketing / advertising, digital / technology and other indirect spend categories as assigned Review, develop, redline, and negotiate third - party vendor contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Non - Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and amendments in cooperation with legal, internal stakeholders and external business partners Negotiate rates, value adds, service level agreements (SLAs) and other contract terms Translate emerging opportunities and business requirements into legal and business terms Support and execute category management, sourcing, contracting and vendor management efforts in partnership with the business strategy team Partner with Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ES&P) peers, Legal, Enterprise Information Security, Finance and UnitedHealth Group's business units to minimize and mitigate risk Develop value - added supplier partnerships that will minimize cost and risk while maximizing quality Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to support business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and expense reductions Proactively identify emerging opportunities and to translate into sourcing strategies and action plans Create project plans, as appropriate, to manage and execute contracting initiatives Contribute to the development of annual supplier cost reduction plans and assume responsibility for meeting or exceeding the established goals Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures Identify diverse supplier sourcing opportunities and support related initiatives Partner with internal ES&P staff to deliver effective reporting as required
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of contract management, negotiation, drafting and redlining experience 2+ years of people leadership / management experience Category management and supply change management experience Competitive sourcing (RFx) development and management experience Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders within all levels of the organization simultaneously Ability to lead individuals / teams to achieve targeted, positive outcomes and results Ability to manage, influence, and communicate change Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and tasks, and effectively prioritize workPreferred Qualifications:MBA or JD Experience with Ariba and PeopleSoft Experience with indirect spend and / or technology categoriesUnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
