Managing, across all areas undertaking credit risk activities, an oversight programme to ensure that credit risk is managed in line with policy and risk appetite, including the development of a comprehensive 2LOD MI suite.
Overseeing the maintenance and annual review of all Credit Risk policies and understanding any related governance requirements and updates to Risk Appetite. Articulating and communicating sound reasoning for changes to policy and Risk Appetite.
Supporting the Team to deliver comprehensive evidence based assurance reviews, including clearly articulated actions aimed at strengthening the 1LOD controls.
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Directors and Heads of Commercial and Risk teams, and supporting business areas to achieve business objectives. Providing challenge and thinking of the bigger picture.
Ensuring my team's work is well understood by colleagues from other departments and is value adding. Coach the team to add value to the business via accurate, knowledgeable guidance and the identification of any risks which may impact risk appetite.
Support the Credit Risk Policy and Assurance Lead in any additional adhoc activities required to enhance the 2LOD Credit Risk framework.
Skills and experience
Great leadership skills and an ability to plan and prioritise effectively
Excellent oral and written communication at all levels
Sound judgement and personal integrity, ability to build trust and respect
Current knowledge of Credit Risk regulation
In Depth technical knowledge of Credit Risk, ideally 5 years gained with a Retail Credit Portfolio Team.
Experience of Credit Risk Modelling and SAS would be an advantage.
Experienced in undertaking oversight and assurance.
Leading people - coaching and developing others within a technical credit risk environment.
