The Department of Counselor Education invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position to teach graduate students in the Department of Counselor Education programs beginning August 28, 2018. The position includes teaching CACREP core courses along with specialty courses as needed. In addition to teaching and advising, the faculty member will create a scholarly research agenda and contribute to the governance and service of the department in the role of program director and eventually Department Chair. The candidate will also teach in the Department's off campus programs in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Applicants will be required to hold a Doctorate in Counselor Education or closely related discipline and have had experience in working with graduate students in counselor education.
Doctorate in Counselor Education or closely related degree.
An understanding of the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit institution and a willingness to embed those qualities into teaching.
At least one year experience teaching graduate students in Counselor Education.
Evidence of applied practice in counseling.
At least one year experience supervising master's level students.
Licensed or license eligible in Washington state.
Demonstrated ability and interest in leading peers on a project on a long-term basis as part of shared leadership for a program and school.
