4 Unit Leads (SNU Network, Administrative Programming, Network and User Support, Telephone/Cable)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Leadership and Development
Recruit, select, train, supervise, develop, support, and evaluate the professional staff team in the Information Technology area.
Provide leadership, direction and support to those directly supervised.
Provide and oversee a comprehensive staff development program for professional staff within the department. Develop, implement and review recruitment, selection, and performance evaluation processes for departmental staff.
Schedule, plan and conduct departmental staff meetings as appropriate that are informative, collaborative, and productive.
Collaboratively work to develop a strategic plan for campus technology infrastructure, both wired and wireless.
Advise and approve all technology contracts across the campus for both administrative and learning purposes based on both the institution and the technology strategic plans.
Develop technology standards for classroom, software, and network devices.
Policy and Procedure Making, Interpretation and Implementation
Serve as a member of the Vice President’s staff providing advice and support in the development of University-wide and Division-wide policy, long range planning and responses to issues and trends affecting the campus.
Be responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures that guarantee the delivery of accurate, timely, and courteous service.
Participate in institution strategic planning processes.
Prepare and submit departmental operating budget plans and proposals.
Manage and coordinate an annual operating budget.
Prepare and maintain a long range technology capital purchasing budget.
Counsel, advice, and actively participate in the Technology Advisory Council, the primary body of the university governance structure.
Proactively develop relationships across the university, especially with Academic Deans, department chairs, and major administrative heads.
Actively participate in the Ellucian ERP consortium with Nazarene sister colleges
Serve on University committees as assigned.
A personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to the mission and core values of the Church of the Nazarene;
Five years of full-time experience within an information technology area;
Bachelor’s degree in related field or requisite job experience directly related to position responsibilities;
Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal means. Demonstrated presentation skills desired;
Success in cultivating collaborative relationships with numerous departments and campus programs;
Experience in managing budgets;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment;
Experience with project management, publications, external relations and policy articulation and implementation;
Strong analytical and organizational skills;
Ability to operate in a highly confidential manner and with minimal supervision;
Ability to work nights and weekends;
Demonstrated commitment to the fundamental values of service to others, community, and diversity.
