As a Mobilisation Support, you'll work within our business model that is highly adaptable, allowing you to quickly and effectively address emerging needs in a changing health care landscape. You will be involved with initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups to coordinate projects, define performance, and drive results. You'll investigate non-standard requests and problems, make presentations to leadership and take pride in completing projects on time and within scope. Purpose of the Job: This role will be part of the implementation and operations team for Optum's GP product and service portfolio. The key focus of this role is initially to develop a lean, standardized and repeatable methodology for on-boarding new customers, as well as overseeing GP implementations on the ground and secondly to manage roll outs to new clients Primary Responsibilities: Product Development:Work closely with the Product Owner and Subject Matter Expert colleagues to understand and be able to succinctly document client goals/needs as input to product planning effortsIdentify all component parts of the implementation life cycle and design modular products that support implementation for a client and which the Optum Sales Team could sell as a value add product.Define user stories and tasks to deliver implementation and operations backlog and roadmap, focusing on the development of lean and repeatable implementation processes Develop associated collateral, training materials, processes to support implementationDevelop / deliver / ensure product training / education for applicable internal and external audiences (e.g., sales team, health plans, brokers, vendors), collaborating with appropriate stakeholders as needed (e.g., training staff, sales leadership, subject matter experts)Adhere to or champion use of applicable product development guidelines / procedures (e.g., Product Development Methodology, Product Development and Release, Product Lifecycle Management)Project Governance and Communications:Ensure that Optum's Template Governance methodology is in place to mobilise new GP customersIdentify, develop and maintain effective relationships and good communication across key GP stakeholders, who need to be engaged in the planning and delivery. Ensure adherence to risk management approaches to identify, analyse and mitigate project risksCommunicate project risk / issues, responses and results based on agreed governance processEnsure that progress reports are prepared and presented to the stakeholders and other forums / groups as requiredLiaise with GP stakeholders and other forums/groups to ensure ongoing alignment of the project portfolio with business strategyProject Management:Collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriate analysis to develop robust business cases for projects aligned to customer strategies Define project plans, timeline, resource and dependenciesEnsure that various projects are aligned and that interdependencies are capturedMonitor requirements and identify any scope related gapsMonitor and report progress throughout the project life cycleIdentify and forecast variances and trends throughout project life cycle to ensure that schedules and resource requirements are metSet targets and monitor performance and quality assuranceManage the quality and quantity of work produced by team members to ensure that the organisation's objectives and targets are achieved. Ensure that project deliverable are in compliance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g. data governance; clinical complianceAnalyse project outcomes and make appropriate recommendations to improve project outcomes / processes going forward Define / implement appropriate actions to drive process improvement going forward (e.g., repeatable processes, feedback loops and liaison with Subject Matter ExpertsEnsure seamless transition from project implementation to business operationsProject Finance:Collect, analyse and maintain financial forecast information relating to various projectsDevelop project budgets and forecastsManage project budgets and ensure appropriate cost control
Required Qualifications:Operational management experience, NHS/public sector experience will be of benefitSuccessful record of leading and managing projects and change programmes / initiatives, with quantifiable impact / benefitsRecognised and relevant management qualification at postgraduate level and/or experienceAbility to analyse, interpret and present (complex) quantitative and qualitative data to a range of audiences and develop a range of options / solutionPresentation skills (verbal and written) to a high standard in a range of settings and at a range of levels Ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level and with key stakeholdersExperience of dealing with conflict and working with colleagues to agree remedial action as requiredPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience in product development, delivering cost reduction / transformation programmes, product development and working in an Agile product development is desirableCompetencies:Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issuesSolves complex problems and develops innovative solutionsMay lead functional or segment teams or projectsProvides explanations and information to others on the most complex issuesMotivates and inspires other team membersLocation of work: Working either from the Paddington, London office or Telecommuting/Working At Home, this position is based wherever most convenient for the applicant on a regular basis. However, meetings in various parts of England and/or on client sites will be a frequent occurrence and permanent whilst managing an implementation. Whilst we will try to place the post holder at a site within a reasonable commute from their homes, this is not always possible, and overnight stays do happen occasionally.
