Position Description - 12 Month Contract This Communications Specialist is part of a team responsible for managing internal and external communications for the bank in Japan. The candidate will be part of a wider Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs (GMCA) department responsible for marketing and events, internal and external communications, and Environment, Social and Governance efforts regionally and globally.
Actively protect and promote in appropriate media the reputation of the bank, it's purpose and related businesses
Create and execute communication campaigns that keep internal and external stakeholders up to date on the bank and its activities
Develop and deliver internal memos, announcements and other materials in a timely manner in both English and Japanese
Plan and execute employee events
Coordinate with the wider GMCA team to ensure global alignment
Help support and advise the Japan leadership team on communications programs
Prepare internal briefings, communications plans and other materials for internal stakeholders
Key requirements: Reporting to the Head of GMCA, Japan, the successful candidate must have:
5+ years media and communications experience
have native Japanese language skills;
be able to communicate on a daily basis in business-level English;
strong writing skills in both English and Japanese
understand the investment banking industry is a plus
be curious about complex issues and take a considered, systematic approach when problem solving;
enjoy developing and managing relationships with a wide variety of internal and external partners based on integrity, mutual respect, and trust;
be able to thrive in a complex matrixed organization structure with tight deadlines;
be consultative, enjoy working in a high functioning team;
