The Team Lead provides the strategic and technical leadership for the Technical Operations; functions as a strategic thought leader and technical subject matter expert for the domain. This individual will have come from a technical background and shall possess the ability to challenge and develop others. The Team Lead is a supervisory position responsible for leading and managing the activities of a team of Enterprise Production Support Specialists (including external consultants). This individual will have previous supervisory and Technology Operations experience and shall possess the ability to challenge, develop and retain team members. This position will lead the team from a performance perspective and shall coach employees on career aspirations and paths, and continually seek ways to expand the efficiency and the effectiveness of the team.
This role shall be accountable for all activities and be fluent in all aspects of their Technical Operations. They shall define and execute the strategic direction and coordinate the technical aspects of work for the successful completion of a project. They shall prepare and utilize project plans as appropriate for IT enhancements and maintenance efforts, lead a technical team through processes and deliverables within the SDLC, establish goals, standards, metrics and provide regular feedback to team members.
Essential Job Duties:
Provide supervision and guidance to a team EPS Specialists and/or external consultants.
Perform team resource allocations.
Perform various associate relations activities such as hiring, training and development, performance management and disciplinary actions.
Conduct ongoing career conversations, identify staffing needs, and provide ongoing evaluation and mentoring of BSS staff.
Provides strategic and technical leadership for the Technical Operations; promoting the overall approach and providing expert advice
Identify staffing needs and allocate the appropriate resources to meet timely completion of specific project tasks.
Monitor individual team member progress on assigned tasks to ensure delivery dates are met.
Provides technical leadership and technical subject matter expertise in the development of the Practice and in the creation of artifacts for the Solution Delivery Life Cycle process
Plan and facilitate team meetings.
Identify and assist in the creation and delivery of training requirements for new hires.
Assist in the development and maintenance of tools, templates, and training.
Assist in the enforcement of standardized processes and tools on every internal and external project.
Build/Maintain detailed knowledge of the business, current technology, and IT infrastructure.
Provide front line support to address technical and operational questions and concerns submitted by end users or escalated by staff.
Create and maintain departmental documentation.
Collaborates with other Architects especially where portfolio (or domain) strategy/roadmaps has cross organization impact
Participates in enterprise, portfolio and project level governance activities
Learns about new products and technologies; partners with others to determine potential capabilities and optimization opportunities
Partners with others in the IT organization and seeks out collaboration opportunities
Perform related duties as assigned.
Previous experience leading / supervising / managing personnel
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT during which more than one of the following occurred:
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management
Demonstrated attention to quality and a continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrated leadership of multi-discipline, high-performance work teams/groups
Successfully developed and implemented new technology
Demonstrated competency in project management and execution of multiple or large projects
Successfully developed and implemented new work processes or process improvements
Technical proficiency in batch and real time processing, monitoring, and expert knowledge in the tools to support these services.
Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
Professional demeanor with the ability to model dedication and support for Company goals
Excellent interpersonal skills evidenced by the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees
Ability to make decisions considering a wide variety of situations and conditions
Experience implementing solutions and working with vendors
Experience functioning as a consultant to other IT groups as a recognized technical leader
Ability to multitask and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional setting
Strong attention to detail, quality, and organization
Health Care industry knowledge
3 years' experience working in a Managed Care operationally based leadership role.
