Which is why your performance and innovation will find a reception here like nowhere else as you help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: Lead a team of accountantsDevelop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practicesDevelop and maintain internal control structure and procedures for financial reportingResolve high level financial reporting issuesManage the audit process and work with outside auditors regarding accounting and reporting issuesOversee the preparation and analysis of internal and external reporting ensuring the quality, reliability and timeliness of the reportsProvide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, rules, regulation and lawsSummarize findings on the monthly, quarterly or annual reports to senior management, auditors and regulatorsCoordinates and supports the Company's strategic and operational planningSupport various special projects as requiredThis position will be responsible for managing day to day accounting activities related to M&R Part D programs.Assisting with monthend closeManaging two accountants; providing leadership, coaching, and mentoringReview and analyze Gross Margin for Part D businessExplain variances between forecast and actual results for Part D businessAnalyzing reinsurance and Low Income Cost Subsidy (LICS) claimsAnalyzing risk sharing arrangement (Risk Corridor) with the Federal GovernmentAssisting with external, internal audits and statutory reportingReviewing account reconciliations performed offshoreReview claims from OFSC as well as mapping, and assist in Ad Hoc projects relating to Claims SystemsReview Account Reconciliations (within Blackline system)Address MLR questions and potential issuesOpportunity to develop enhanced reporting and analyticsOpportunity to apply SAS skills through ad-hoc projects and process improvements
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3 plus related accounting experienceIntermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisionsExpert level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and other financial reporting toolExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed dataPrior experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines Preferred Qualifications:CPA/CMA or other equivalent licensure or certification 3+ years of supervisory experienceCareers with UnitedHealthcare.
